Diver on wreckUnderwater Activities and Progression

Marine Life - the oceans of the world teem with life and the UK has some of the best diving to be found anywhere in the world. Experiencing first hand a playful seal, an inquisitive wrasse or an octopus cleaning his tentacles will rate as special moments never to be forgotten. Marine biology courses are available for scuba divers in the UK. The Marine Conservation Society is actively involved in conserving our seas and is keen to enlist the support of scuba divers for various projects around the UK.

Underwater Photography - knows no bounds. Limited only by the photographer's imagination, the sea is an infinite source of images waiting to be captured.

Archaeology - through the Nautical Archaeological Society recreational divers are taught methods of finding, preserving and recording their underwater finds.

Instruction - few moments compare to the satisfaction of seeing the face of a novice diver after his/her first forays into this other world. Teaching others to dive can be very rewarding.

Wreck Diving - is a popular activity amongst experienced scuba divers. Researching wreck sites, delving into our history and then visiting sunken wrecks can become totally consuming and gives a real sense of purpose to visiting the coast.
