Historical diving suitsHistory

The Scubanaut Diving Club was formed in 1983 by two very experienced instructors, who wanted to create a club to teach snorkelling and scuba diving to a high and safe standard. They approached the Sub Aqua Association and, after meeting all the criteria of the SAA, the Scubanaut Diving Club SAA No 408 was born. By Christmas of 1983 the Club had a membership of 23, most of whom wanted to start with a fresh club so it could be moulded into a club of high and safe standards. This does indeed show in the Club's record of no accidents.

In 1995, the Club as a whole, decided to transfer membership to the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) Branch Number 2115.
